Our group currently employs over 50,000 employees with diverse backgrounds in Japan and overseas. Regardless of gender, nationality, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, career and other differing characteristics, we provide all employees with access to opportunities for growth and practical experience. In addition, we believe that mutually respecting diverse perspectives and values, as well as transforming individual strengths into organizational strength while enhancing capabilities and work-related satisfaction, are drivers of sustainable growth at the group. Given this, we view the elements of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) to be essential and extremely important as a foundation for growth.

At the same time, we have set forth Core Values, which we intend to particularly emphasize and further strengthen in order to embody the Furukawa Electric Group Purpose. Within these Core Values, we have designated “Collaboration” that emphasizes respect for diverse backgrounds, cultures, customs and values and fosters mutual understanding through open communication between organizations.

Combining the capabilities of each diverse employee, we aim to achieve Vision 2030: to create social-solution businesses in the convergent areas of information, energy and mobility, as well as in new domains, and become a company essential to society. Based on this, we will further promote initiatives for DE&I with the aim of growing into a corporate group that benefits society.

At Furukawa Electric Group, building on the principle of “Fairness = equal access to opportunities for growth and practical experience” emphasized in our D&I activities, we have explicitly included Equity from April 2026.
